Almquist Construction is a small company that finishes basements in a big way. When we met Nanci and Matt Almquist, their business was doing ok. Meaning they had enough business to keep them busy, pay the bills and employ about 5-6 crewmembers. Their company was successful and had been around for more then 3 years. However, it was time for them to think about where they wanted to take the company over the next 5-10 years.

Like other companies their size, Almquist Construction didn't have a plan for the future. They worked day to day and really didn't know whether they wanted to grow the company or maintain the same size. The idea of retirement was not an option at this time.
